EU Open Forum 2004
Speeches and resources from the Open Forum that took place last
May are available on the European
Commission's Public Health website. EPBS president Martin Nicholson
attended the event to represent European biomedical scientists.
The objective of the Open Forum is to provide a platform for networking
and exchange of ideas and views of different stakeholders of the
European health community (health professionals' organisations,
public health NGOs, patient groups, and service providers and funders).
Professional qualifications
The report, Professional qualifications: mutual recognition
of the regulated professions to ensure free movement, was passed
by the European Parliament in February 2004 and is now awaiting
the position from the Council. A summary of the main provisions
as passed by Parliament are available on the European Parliament's
Legislative
Observatory.
